Model - based Calibration of a Range Camera
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper introduces a new method for the calibration of a range camera based on active triangulation. The technique is based on a model derived from the geometry of the synchronized scanner. From known positions of a calibration bar, a logistic equation is tted with values of spot positions read from a linear position detector at a number of angular positions of a scanning mirror. Furthermore, with an approximate form of the general equations describing the geometry, a series of design guidelines are derived to help a designer conduct a preliminary study of a particular range camera. Experimental results demonstrating the technique are found to compare favorably with theoretical predictions.

Range Camera Self-Calibration Based on Integrated Bundle Adjustment via Joint Setup with a 2D Digital Camera
Time-of-flight cameras, based on photonic mixer device (PMD) technology, are capable of measuring distances to objects at high frame rates, however, the measured ranges and the intensity data contain systematic errors that need to be corrected. In this paper, a new integrated range camera self-calibration method via joint setup with a digital (RGB) camera is presented. This method can simultane...
متن کاملCamera Calibration: a USU Implementation
The task of camera calibration is to estimate the intrinsic and extrinsic parameters of a camera model. Though there are some restricted techniques to infer the 3-D information about the scene from uncalibrated cameras, effective camera calibration procedures will open up the possibility of using a wide range of existing algorithms for 3-D reconstruction and recognition. The applications of cam...

We present a robust, real-time human detection and tracking system that achieves very good results in a wide range of commercial applications, including counting people and measuring occupancy. The key to the system is a human model based camera calibration process. The system uses a simplified human model that allows the user to very quickly and easily configure the system. This simple initial...
متن کاملError Model of a Coded-Light Range Sensor
This paper describes the measurement principle, the mathematical model, the calibration procedure, and the error model of a range sensor based on the Coded-Light Approach. The sensor consists of a CCD camera and a stripe projector. 3-D measurements are realized by the intersection of camera rays with the planes generated by the stripe projection. Using projective geometry renders camera and pro...
متن کاملCalibration and Accuracy Analysis of a Focused Plenoptic Camera
In this article we introduce new methods for the calibration of depth images from focused plenoptic cameras and validate the results. We start with a brief description of the concept of a focused plenoptic camera and how from the recorded raw image a depth map can be estimated. For this camera, an analytical expression of the depth accuracy is derived for the first time. In the main part of the...
